Which Agent Would You Use?
You’re looking for a new home. You already have an agent, but you haven’t signed a contract with him yet. You walk into an open house and the listing agent tells you that if you buy it through her, she’ll give you a break on the commission. What would you do: a) buy the house through the listing agent to get a break on the commission? OR b) call your agent and ask him to prepare an offer for you because you think that the advice he’d give you and the price he’d be able to negotiate for you would more than compensate for the commission break the listing agent is offering you?
